Tanda of the Week 14 / 2013 - Juan D'Arienzo 1936

1. Juan D'Arienzo - "El flete" 1936 - TangoTunes
2. Juan D'Arienzo - "Don Juan" 1936 - TangoTunes
3. Juan D'Arienzo - "Ataniche" 1936 - TangoTunes
4. Juan D'Arienzo - "La guitarrita" 1936 - TangoTunes

It's a great day to be a tango addict! TangoTunes.com has released a lot of tracks from Juan D'Arienzo in superb quality including these instrumentals from 1936. The songs are digitalized from shellacs in collaboration with the Tango Digital Archive and the sound quality makes me pray towards Buenos Aires five times a day. You can listen to the tanda on Spotify but especially the only version of "La guitarrita" available on Spotify is in much lower quality than what you get from TangoTunes.

I'm also happy to announce the second collaboration and special promotion between Tanda of the Week and TangoTunes.com:

With the promotional code: "TOTW14-DARIENZO" you will get a 10% discount on all purchases of the digitalizations of the Juan D'Arienzo shellacs available on TangoTunes.com.

This offer is available from 15th to 22nd of July. Here are the steps you need to take:

1. Go to TangoTunes.com and find the D'Arienzo shellacs you'd like to purchase and add them to your shopping cart.
2. Go to your shopping cart/basket and type the promotional coupon code TOTW14-DARIENZO in the Discount Codes box and click apply coupon. You will see the discount applied in the total sum.
3. Checkout, complete your purchase, download your new music and enjoy!

I also posted in more detail on www.tangovalsmilonga.com about the D'Arienzo shellacs available on TangoTunes and especially about the possibly best ever quality version of "Trago Amargo".

  1. Thanks, Antti. That's the best transfer of La guitarrita I've heard, but that Ataniche is I think bettered by the one on the RCA album "De pura cepa (1935-1936)" [00828766933024].
